Membership

OPTS has 29 active members, comprising both indigenous and international oil companies.

The cohesion among members make OPTS a credible voice in matters that affect the upstream oil and gas industry in Nigeria.

OPTS Guiding Principles

Associate

To become an Associate member, prospective applicants must be:

  • A private company incorporated in Nigeria
  • A member of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry
  • At least a registered holder and/or designated operator of an OPL or an OML
  • An equity owner in a venture actively producing crude oil or natural gas in Nigeria or pursuing an exploration or development programme for a minimum six month prior to the date of application
  • Directly responsible for the day-to-day management of its petroleum operations

Producer

To become a Producer member, prospective applicants must:

  • Meet all the conditions for Associate Member status
  • Be the designated operator of an OPL or OML which is actively producing crude oil or natural gas and has been doing so for a period of six months or more prior to the date of application
